Reaffirming its commitment to supporting national
initiatives that promote social inclusion and encourage healthy lifestyles,
Jordan Kuwait Bank sponsored Olympic Day 2026, organized by the Jordan Olympic
Committee under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein,
President of the Jordan Olympic Committee. The event took place at Arena Hall
in Al Hussein Youth City.
The event brought together 50 children, including 20
children from Sana Association for Supporting People with Disabilities,
alongside approximately 150 participants, including athletes, representatives
of community organizations, and the children's families. Participants took part
in a variety of sports and interactive activities designed to promote the
concept of "Sport for All." The event concluded with a ceremony
recognizing all participants.
This year's Olympic Day was part of the International
Olympic Committee's global "Let's Move" campaign, launched in
collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) under the theme
"You Can Do This." The initiative encourages young people to take
their first steps toward a more active lifestyle while building confidence in
their abilities. This year's event placed particular emphasis on bringing
together children with Down syndrome and athletes in interactive activities
that celebrated inclusion, teamwork, and equal participation.
Haethum Buttikhi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Jordan
Kuwait Bank, said the bank's participation reflects its firm belief that
investing in people begins with supporting initiatives that enhance quality of
life while fostering inclusion and community engagement. He noted that sport is
a universal language that brings people together, inspires individuals, and
empowers them to realize their full potential.
Buttikhi added that integrating children with Down syndrome
into sporting activities alongside athletes demonstrates, in practice, the
values of equality and respect that the bank seeks to advance through its
community programs. He reaffirmed the bank's continued commitment to supporting
national initiatives that generate lasting social impact and create greater
opportunities for participation across all segments of society.
The bank's support for Olympic Day reflects its corporate
social responsibility strategy, which focuses on backing initiatives that
deliver sustainable impact while promoting physical activity and encouraging
healthier lifestyles. This commitment is rooted in the bank's belief that sport
is a powerful catalyst for building a more cohesive and inclusive society,
while reinforcing the values of excellence, respect, collaboration, and equal
opportunity.
